Aaaaaand we're back from our recent bout of scribblings with meticulous detail! It took me hours (seriously) to ink in the black with a 08 Micron pen. Wow.
Anyway, this is supposed to be the ancient Sumerian hero-king Gilgamesh, reimagined as a modern-day rock star (and not to be mistaken for Andrew W.K. ^_~). He's supposed to have a tattoo of "king" in cuneiform writing on his shoulder, but I couldn't find a good enough source to satisfy my perfectionism. Once I find a good translation, though, a tattoo he shall receive!
My "peacock blue" marker doesn't look quite enough like lapis lazuli, but I love the black.
Prismacolor markers and colored pencils, Micron pen on 9x12" bristol vellum
I forget where I found the stock photo for reference, but once I find it I'll give credit!
